Experimental Equipment
In most of the above facilities, the experimental data are gathered using
standard transducers and purpose built dynamometers. The portable towing systems
and dynamometers are to the Wolfson Unit's design and are moved between
facilities as appropriate. The signal conditioning equipment is linked to a
portable, microcomputer based, data acquisition system. Routine data analysis
and results presentation can be accomplished during the tests. The use of the
same towing and measurement systems in different facilities enables good
correlation to be maintained.
